Chartered Accountancy course of ICAI is being accepted and recognised in the country as well as globally from both academic and professional perspectives.
Recently Visvesvaraya Technological University of Belagavi (Karnataka) has recognised the Chartered Accountancy qualification as equivalent to Masters degree and therefore, the members & students can now apply and join PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) programme under the Management Studies (Financial Management).
ICAI is making all efforts to get Chartered Accountancy Certificate be treated at par with Graduate and Post-Graduate Degree in the University education system.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) last year wrote to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India seeking its intervention regarding this.
This will not only help CA’s for pursuing higher studies but will also facilitate the mobility of Indian CAs globally as well for supporting the overall national cause of providing best quality professionals and academicians to the world at large.
As of now So far, a total of 110 academic institutions of the country, including 102 Universities, 6 IIMs and 2 IITs, have recognised our Chartered Accountancy qualification for pursuing the PhD programme.
