The country’s second Centre of Excellence (CoE) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) was inaugurated on June 28, 2017 by Union Minister of State for Finance Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal and Rajasthan Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje at Chaisla in Jaipur district.
Meghwal said that the CoE will contribute in making India a hub of international auditing. "Chartered accountants should act as brand ambassadors of Good and Services Act (GST) and work towards its implementation, he said at the event.
The First ICAI's Centre of Excellence was set up at Hyderabad and this is the second Centre of Excellence and the first centre in the northern India. This will serve the profession by hosting various programmes of empowerment for our members and students.
ICAI plans to open 11 Centre of Excellence across India. Other cities where the centre would be set up are Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Noida, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Pune, Bangalore and Chandigarh.
